How To Get a Key Out of a Lock?

A key can get stuck in a lock for several reasons. You may need professional help to resolve the situation. If your key is stuck in the lock, there are several ways to get it out. The first thing you should do is to try to locate the end of the key that has broken off inside the lock. If you can find it, you may be able to pull it out with tweezers or needle-nosed pliers. You may also be able to use a small screwdriver to push it out from behind if you have enough room for the tip of the screwdriver. If neither of these methods work, you will need to drill out the lock so you can access the broken end of your key.

Full Key Is Stuck In the Lock

If your full key gets stuck in the lock, it might be an issue. Try turning it slightly first, then pull out your full key again. If it doesn’t work, check the dirt or debris inside to ensure your full key comes out smoothly.

Broken Key Stuck In the Lock

If the key is still partially in the cylinder and you can see the end of it, try pushing the pin back into place using a screwdriver or another key. This should allow you to turn the cylinder enough to grab hold of your original key and remove it.

If you can free up your stuck key with this method, try turning it again with your original key before pulling it out completely (if possible).
